Product Update: Q3 2026 GeoStack release notes
Our Q3 2026 GeoStack roundup covers more than 10 releases across pricing, invoicing, clearer order approvals, LiDAR and SpaceEye-T support, and a more consistent interface. We’ve also advanced our move to the STAC standard, with self-service configuration coming soon.

What's new in GeoStack: Q3 2026
We shipped more than 10 production releases to GeoStack across Q3 2026, roughly one every week.
This update rounds up the changes that matter most to the people using the platform: how imagery is priced and paid for, how orders are approved, what data you can reach, and how it all looks and feels. We also cover the foundation work underneath, which makes the next round of features faster and safer to build.
Fairer pricing and simpler payments
For suppliers that support it, orders needing several images from the same sensor class are now priced on the total area covered rather than image by image. Think of tiling a floor: the price follows the size of the floor, not the number of tiles it takes. The consolidated price appears directly in the cart, and result cards have been redesigned around the new model.
Payments now run through Stripe invoices, with line items, discounts and tax itemised on each one. That gives finance teams a cleaner record to reconcile, and tax is now calculated on the net transaction value.
The cart also blocks instrument and product combinations that can't be ordered together, so problems are caught before checkout rather than after. Archive results now show a calculated scene area in correctly scaled units, and unit prices that include loadings display correctly on result cards.
More control over who orders what
Order approvals are now clearer. Platform administrators can see when an order is pending approval, and are emailed as soon as one needs their sign-off.
Platform operators can also set more precise ordering rules. Customer constraints now apply across catalog browsing, archive search and order creation, so each customer sees only the suppliers and options they are entitled to.
Constraint rules for cloud cover, priority and licence are now expressed in CQL2, an Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standard for filtering geospatial data, with minimums and maximums by percentage or amount. For suppliers that require screening before their data can be searched, GeoStack now supports screening workflows and tells users clearly when one applies.
New data and easier discovery
GeoStack now supports LiDAR, including USGS LiDAR data. Catalog entries carry point cloud metadata, scene outlines and thumbnails, so you can judge coverage before you order.
We now also support SpaceEye-T through a new integration.
Search has a new layout too. When you refine a search, filters specific to each sensor type now sit in their own panel, keeping the main options uncluttered.
A cleaner, more consistent interface
Our UI components have been redesigned or updated to look and behave consistently across the dashboard and browser. The dashboard has a rebuilt shell with a new header bar, collapsible navigation and role tabs, and the mapping results header is now a single toolbar.
Platform operators also get more flexibility. Result cards can be tailored to each platform, header styling follows each platform's branding, the user list flags banned users, and white-label and single sign-on settings have been consolidated.
Coming soon: self-service configuration, letting platform operators manage their own settings from the dashboard sidebar through redesigned forms.
Under the hood
Much of this period's work went into foundations, led by our move to STAC, the SpatioTemporal Asset Catalog standard. Think of STAC as the shipping container of satellite data: every item arrives in the same shape, whichever satellite it came from. All archive integrations now produce STAC items internally, and orders can be encoded the same way, laying the groundwork for faster supplier onboarding and smoother interoperability.
